Prof. Dr. Fatih Osman Kurtuluş
Born in Istanbul in 1973, Dr Kurtuluş completed his secondary education at Halide Edip Adıvar High School in Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine (English) in 1997, obtaining the title of Doctor of Medicine. He then began his specialist training in medicine at the Urology Clinic of Istanbul Taksim Training and Research Hospital in 1998. During his residency, Dr. Kurtuluş worked actively in all subspecialties of urology and served as President of the Turkish Association of Residents and as the Turkish representative of the European Association of Urology Residents. At the end of this training period, he earned the title of ‘Urology Specialist’ in 2002 after passing the scientific examination. Dr. Kurtuluş then continued his academic and surgical career at Düzce State Hospital and Malatya Military Hospital, respectively, working as a Senior Assistant at the institution where he completed his medical specialisation training between 2004 and 2013.
In 2007, he passed the European Board of Urology examination, and in June 2013, he earned the title of ‘Associate Professor of Urology’ as a result of an academic evaluation and professional examination conducted by the Inter-University Council. Subsequently, Dr. Kurtuluş was awarded the title of Professor in 2018 and currently teaches as a faculty member in Health Management at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Nişantaşı University. Dr. Kurtuluş also provides consultancy services to various hospitals as a medical director.
Dr. Kurtuluş’s international experience includes Strasbourg, San Raffaele Hospital, Novy Chin, and Klinikum Helilbron.
Dr. Kurtuluş has numerous domestic and international publications. In addition to being a member of the European Association of Urology and the World Association of Endourology, Dr. Kurtuluş is also a member of the Turkish Urology Association and the Uro-Oncology Association. He also serves as a reviewer and advisory board member for several journals.
Dr. Kurtuluş’s areas of interest can be summarised as follows: urinary tract stone disease, general urology, endourology, benign prostatic hyperplasia, uro-oncology, chronic prostatitis, laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures.
